Cyteir Therapeutics is an innovative drug development company specializing in DNA repair and synthetic lethality, with a focus on oncology and autoimmune disorders. We are a rapidly growing company and are seeking an Associate Scientist/Senior Research Associate to join our scientific team located in Cambridge, MA.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Discovery Biology, the Associate Scientist/Senior Research Associate will be responsible for performing cell based and molecular assays to advance our drug discovery program. The ideal candidate is team-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. He/She will work in a laboratory-based team setting, laboratory bench research.  This individual will have a background in the life sciences, experience in biotech/pharma research, and the requisite laboratory skills to execute a rigorous scientific plan in collaboration with other team members.  He/She will be responsible for carrying out laboratory procedures; generation of rigorous, high-quality scientific data; meticulous record keeping; independent and supervised trouble-shooting; and timely generation of research reports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform cell-based assays to measure cell death and resistance mechanisms.
  • Use cell and molecular biology techniques to characterize cells and cell lines
  • Maintain mammalian and murine cell lines.
  • Generate stable cells lines for laboratory use.
  • Generate solutions and maintain laboratory space.
  • Work with other team members to achieve discovery biology goals.
  • Maintain clear and concise experimental records.
  • Data analysis.
  • Organize and present experimental results to the scientific team.


  • BS with 2-4 years industry experience in biology or a related field.
  • Basic laboratory skills, including sterile technique.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture.
  • Experience with molecular and cellular techniques including PCR, RNA isolation, RT-PCR, solution formulation, and Western blotting.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to be flexible and change directions quickly.
  • Self-motivated individual

Working Conditions

This is a laboratory-based position with no required travel.
